Color Filled Half Bath
This half bath was part of a first-floor renovation project we recently completed.
A small half bath is a great space to make a strong statement with color and wallpaper. You will see this is a very self-contained room, so if you desire a dramatic statement, this is a great area in which to make it.
My client was also trying to visualize something dramatic but was overwhelmed with the endless choices of patterns and wallpaper. They asked me to create a design for the space. Since we’ve done several projects for them, I was in tune with their likes and dislikes, so I knew she loved colors and large tropical-influenced patterns, so I went to work on the design of the space.
In the new design, I pulled some of the color selections from the main living space, which was adjacent to this small bathroom, and I knew that the star of the show would be the beautiful wallpaper. It’s a vertical pattern and strong colors were the perfect choice for this client. I designed a built-in vanity painted in a high gloss paint to complement the wallpaper. Quartz countertops, brushed brass fixtures, and an undermount sink completed the vanity. We used a complementary small patterned wallpaper for the ceiling, then added the recessed lighting, bamboo-inspired lighting sconces, a cabinet with gorgeous brushed brass bamboo cabinet pulls, and additional hardware that complimented the wallpaper.
We completed the renovation by adding some complimentary bold artwork that I knew my client would love.
The finished bathroom created a warm mix of color and pattern. Since this bathroom is off the main living space, I made it a whimsical surprise for guests when they open the door to the color-filled space.
Until Next Time,
