As we start to see the first signs of spring, it can be exciting to refresh our spaces to reflect the start of a new season.

Here are seven ways to start refreshing your spaces to reflect spring.
Add rich color.

1.

It is time to pack away heavy blankets, throws, and pillows and refresh your space with some spring color and textures. Adding a new throw blanket and a few pillows to your living space can help freshen things up. Try some fresh accent colors that complement your existing color scheme. Forgo the heavy knit blankets and fur throws for soft, lightweight fabrics. Don’t be afraid to mix textures and patterns.

2.

Refresh what you already own. Move your existing home accessories around. The best way to do this is to take everything out of the area and start fresh using everything that you already have, creating a fresh display. You’ll have a completely new look with items that you already own. This is also a great time to give everything a good spring cleaning. Also, consider displaying any collected items and photos from previous warm-weather vacations to give your home a seasonal vibe.

3.

Spring is a great time to refresh window treatments. Also, it’s a good time to consider adding custom window treatments. Keep in mind, custom window treatments take careful planning and have a long fabrication lead time. Starting the process now will allow you to have window treatments in place long before the winter holiday season.

4.

If you haven’t ordered or purchased new cushions or outdoor furniture, do it quickly before items sell out and longer lead times kick in.

5.

One quick way to freshen up your home is to bring in natural elements. While changing out those accessories, display some early spring blooms or flowering branches to add an organic touch to your home. A casual display of branches is easy to make — just use a container tall enough to hold the branches upright.

6.

If you’re considering adding new furniture pieces to your home, spring is a great time to start that process. Many items, both custom and stock, have long lead times, and again, require thoughtful planning. This will allow you to have the pieces that you want in place by the fall/winter.

7.

Set up your kitchen with items to prepare you for outdoor entertaining. As the warmer weather approaches, set up an area in your kitchen, in a cabinet, or in a nice display on your countertop that’s convenient to store items needed for outdoor entertaining. This will allow you to access them quickly and easily when needed, so you’ll be prepared for all those spontaneous barbecues and gatherings…
