So, what is my favorite color? Definitely my answer will always be RED. In honor of Valentine’s Day , I wanted to pull together some “Red Hot Red-Design Inspiration.”

A lamp or a throw pillow, or a room done entirely in red, this primary color delivers a powerful punch in any room. Red can add drama to a space, and red is associated with a strong emotional response, the color of love, warmth, romance, strength, and power, rooms designed with red can be exciting and magnetic.

The energy of red can be balanced out with cool neutral tones or combined with other strong tones to create a powerful and energetic color scheme. Red also stimulates the appetite and has been shown to increase the heart rate, for some people it brings out aggression. Color can be very powerful tool,so when I design a space, I consider the psychology of a color as well as the individual’s response, red can prove to be too strong for many people,so try this powerhouse color in small doses.

But for me, the sight of a red lacquered armoire or a crimson painted front door, will always bring a smile to my face.
